Did you know Indian actor Mohanlal Viswanathan, widely known as Mohanlal, is the highest paid multi-talented actor in the Malayalam film industry? However, most people know the Malayalam-language film Manjil Virinja Pookkal released in 1980 was Mohanlal’s debut film. But in fact, the actor made his acting debut at the age of 18 with the Malayalam-language film Thiranottam where he played the role of a mentally disabled servant. However, Thiranottam which was created and completed in 1978 was not released immediately due to censorship issues even though a premiere show has been scheduled and arranged. Mohanlal claimed he considered Thiranottam as the beginning of his acting career whether the film was released or not. But after 25 years of being unreleased, Thiranottam was released in a single theatre at Kollam in 2005.

Moreover, Mohanlal has made a plea on his Facebook page posted sometime in September 2014 asking his followers and fans to help him trace the child actor who he has shared the screen in the film Thiranottam because he wishes to meet him. He also shared the video clip of the scene in order for people to help him identify the child. However, the search ended on a sad note, after he found out the child actor named Ajith Rajagopal died of a cardiac arrest in Chennai in 2007.

   'Hotstar appears to be a really good site to watch Malayalam movies. There seems to be a wide variety of movies to choose from. However, access appears to be limited in the US (where I am), so I guess Hotstar is a good choice if you live outside the US. '
